Non-Alcoholic Spiced Apple Cider

Here is an old-fashioned recipe for making spiced apple cider. Sometimes called mulled apple cider, this hot spiced drink is traditionally served at Christmas, but is great all autumn and winter long.

Non-Alcoholic Spiced Apple Cider

How to make traditional hot spiced apple cider.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 teaspoons of cloves
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 3-1/2 quarts of apple cider or apple juice

Instructions

  1. Place the cloves, salt, cinnamon sticks and brown sugar into a large saucepan or a crockpot.
  2. Simmer over a low heat stirring occasionally until warmed through and the spices are thoroughly steeped (at least 20 minutes).
  3. Serve warm.
